Nunavut
Nunavut is not merely a hunting destination — it is the most extreme, remote, and culturally immersive outdoor experience available in Canada, possibly the world. Spanning nearly 2 million square kilometers of Arctic tundra, ice fields, and Arctic Ocean coastline, Nunavut offers Inuit-guided hunts for species found almost nowhere else: polar bear, muskox, and walrus. These are not lodge-based luxury experiences; they are authentic, traditional hunts conducted with Inuit guides whose ancestors have harvested these animals for millennia. The cost is high, the conditions are harsh, but for the hunter seeking the ultimate adventure, nothing compares.

About Nunavut Hunting & Fishing
Hunting in Nunavut is unlike anything most hunters will ever experience. Temperatures can plunge to -50°C during spring polar bear hunts. Travel is by dog team, snowmobile, or qamutik (traditional sled) across sea ice and frozen tundra. The sun never sets during summer muskox hunts on the mainland tundra. Every hunt is conducted with Inuit guides whose knowledge of the land, weather, ice conditions, and animal behavior spans thousands of years of accumulated wisdom. This is cultural immersion at its most authentic — and hunting at its most extreme. Trophy species include the mighty polar bear, shaggy muskox, and the Atlantic walrus with its massive tusks.
Terrain: Vast Arctic tundra, sea ice, glacial landscapes, and Arctic Ocean coastline. The territory includes most of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago including Baffin Island, Ellesmere Island, and Victoria Island. No roads connect Nunavut communities to the rest of Canada.
